Summer Lunches

The kids at Fortress are fed through the City of Fort Worth's Summer Lunch Program. Our adult volunteers and interns rely on the generosity of volunteers like you to provide lunch on Tuesdays and Wednesdays.

Families, church groups, and businesses who provide lunches for our adults make it possible for Fortress to focus all its summer funding on programs for the kids!

Want to get involved this summer? Here's How!

That's why every Tuesday is Special Interest Classes!

During the summer, Fortress kids in 2nd-5th grade can sign up for Special Interest Classes. SICs are taught entirely by volunteers and give our kids the opportunity to explore new skills and talents! Past classes have included Mechanics, Chess, Cooking, Painting, Dance, and much more!

Classes are on Tuesdays from 12:30-1:30. Volunteers can sign up for the June (10th, 17th, 24th) or July (1st, 8th, 15th) session.

For more information, or to sign up, contact Volunteer Coordinator Dani Kocur,

One of the four reasons kids leave poverty is through a specific talent or ability that provides an opportunity for them.

Another reason kids get out of poverty is by having a goal or vision of something they want to be or have.

Mad Scientist Mondays

Got a passion for science? Every Monday we discover some of the cools ways God's creation works! Volunteers are invited to host one or several of these weekly experiments!
